Who provides QuestSeat
QuestSeat is operated by STORMSCAPE PTY LTD, ABN 37 693 663 731, ACN 693 663 731. In these terms, “QuestSeat”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company. QuestSeat serves Australia and the United States.
QuestSeat currently offers a testing preview with live Stripe collection disabled. A test Checkout or transaction does not activate a paid subscription or authorise live charges.
QuestSeat provides public GM and campaign pages, optional discovery, and tools for campaign administration, joining, communication and session payment arrangements. A game master (“GM”) creates and runs their game, sets its published session offer and table expectations, and communicates with their players. Players should review that particular offer before agreeing to join.
These platform terms do not replace the campaign terms you accept with a GM, the payment authorisation for a chosen arrangement, or your rights under applicable law. QuestSeat remains responsible for the platform services it supplies and its own representations. The involvement of a GM, Stripe or another service does not remove responsibilities that the law places on us.
Report an issue requires verified email access. Platform reports are available there when QuestSeat support is configured and accepting reports. Campaign-specific questions can also be sent to the GM through the available campaign conversation or agreed contact route.
Eligibility, agreement and access
Review these terms when QuestSeat asks you to agree before starting the relevant account, subscription or other service. Financial consent is requested separately for the particular payment or recurring subscription. Viewing a public page, starting a free trial or being added to a roster does not by itself authorise a card charge.
QuestSeat is for GMs and players aged 18 or older. This includes existing and invited players, externally paid and complimentary places, and guests without email. GMs must not add or admit an under-18 participant.
Provide a truthful age declaration when requested. If a GM records eligibility for an existing or invited guest, the GM must have asked that person and received confirmation that they are 18 or older. A GM attestation is distinct from the person’s own declaration. Neither is independent age verification or a substitute for service-term agreement, table acceptance or financial consent. Stripe’s merchant-identity requirements are separate from participant age declarations.
An age-related restriction on participation or new agreements does not remove access to your records, support, refunds or cancellation, subject to normal identity and authorisation checks. Tell QuestSeat if a declaration is incorrect or you believe an under-18 person is participating, so the situation and existing commitments can be addressed.
Provide accurate information for the action you take, keep your private access links secure, and use only identities, workspaces and records you are entitled to access. Tell us if someone may have obtained access to your account or private records without permission. Do not share payment credentials or another person’s private access link in public content or support messages.
A public player profile or password is not a condition of participating at a table. Email verification protects private access and actions that require it. GMs can include established guests without email and relay the information those guests need. A roster entry does not prove that a person accepted platform terms, table terms or financial consent on somebody else’s behalf.
GMs must have a lawful basis to provide participant information and the authority needed for an arrangement they record. Sharing an email address does not make two people the same person or permit records from different GMs to be merged without authority.
GM subscriptions, free trials and prices
GM subscription prices are in United States dollars (USD):
- Standard GM subscription: US$29 per month, with one initial free 30-day trial.
- Eligible founding GM subscription: US$15 per month while continuous, as described below, with one initial free 30-day trial.
One initial free 30-day trial is available for your GM account on either rate. Trial setup uses Stripe Checkout and requires a card. The trial begins when Stripe confirms the subscription’s trial start, not merely when you open a workspace or unfinished Checkout. Once that trial has started, cancelling and subscribing again does not grant another trial. Before you start, the offer identifies the applicable rate, trial treatment, what happens at the end and the features included. Review the confirmed trial dates and first paid billing date shown in Checkout and your billing settings.
Before we ask for billing information, we will show the subscription amount, currency, monthly frequency, trial treatment if applicable, first charge and renewal information, cancellation method, and total. The published US$15 or US$29 subscription price is the customer total, including any applicable tax QuestSeat must account for; QuestSeat adds no undisclosed surcharge. Review those terms before authorising the paid subscription in Stripe Checkout. The price display and checkout must be consistent. QuestSeat will not start automatic paid collection merely because a trial has ended or a card has previously been used for a different purpose.
After you expressly authorise the recurring subscription through Stripe Checkout, the accepted subscription renews monthly until cancelled. A payment method supplied for a game session does not authorise the GM’s separate subscription, and subscription consent does not authorise player session charges.
Your bank or payment provider may apply its own currency conversion or other charges under your agreement with it. QuestSeat does not describe those charges as its own revenue or promise an exchange rate.
Founding GM places and continuity
There are 100 founding GM places. Viewing an offer does not reserve a place. Checkout can provisionally hold an available founding place while its completion is confirmed; when the eligible founding trial actually starts, the place is reserved for that trial. A provisional hold or trial reservation is not a paid founding subscription. Paid conversion requires a confirmed subscription payment; free trial status, a zero-value invoice or a manually recorded amount is not that payment.
An unconverted place is released when the Checkout or subscription is conclusively expired or ended without paid conversion. A recoverable payment failure or uncertain payment outcome is not treated as final termination. A converted place remains counted among the first 100 after cancellation; it is not recycled into a new founding offer.
An eligible founding subscription is US$15 per month while continuous. A recoverable payment failure does not, by itself, immediately end that rate. Loss of operating access and the final loss of founding eligibility are separate. Follow the recovery action, any deadline and access restrictions shown in your billing settings and notices. Restricting new operations does not itself release the place or end its rate while the same subscription remains recoverable. These terms do not promise a fixed provider retry period.
Founding-price eligibility ends when cancellation takes effect and the subscription ends. Scheduling cancellation for the end of a period does not itself end the current subscription. Reversing that scheduled cancellation before it takes effect preserves continuity. After the subscription has ended, subscribing again uses the then-available standard offer, without restoring the founding place or an already used trial. The effective date and price consequences must be clear before you confirm cancellation.
We will not retrospectively apply a different subscription price to an accepted billing period or silently replace an eligible continuous founding rate with the standard rate. A change in any other subscription offer must be disclosed before it applies, with notice, consent and a genuine cancellation opportunity as required by applicable law.
Cancelling or recovering a GM subscription
Use the subscription billing controls to stop renewal at the end of the current period. If those controls fail or are unavailable, use the available QuestSeat support route. The confirmation must identify the effective cancellation date, the end of any remaining trial or paid access and whether a payment is already due or has been collected. Cancellation must not depend on buying another service or accepting marketing messages.
Ending or failing to renew the GM’s platform subscription is separate from ending a player’s campaign membership or settling a session’s money. It does not erase existing obligations, payment records, refunds, external returns, disputes or statutory rights. Any change to operating access must be explained before it affects the table, with a usable route for necessary financial recovery and records.
A payment failure is not a successful payment. Recovery notices must identify the amount and next action. Operating access depends on confirmed subscription status and the applicable access deadline shown in billing settings. A failed payment, an unpaid status or an access restriction is not by itself evidence that cancellation has taken effect.
When subscription enforcement applies, expiry of confirmed trial, paid or recovery access restricts new publication, new admissions and new unattended session collection. It does not remove player-home access, financial resolution, external-settlement records, exports or support, subject to normal identity and authorisation checks.
Restoring subscription access does not automatically collect older session debt. New unattended collection can be authorised only for session cutoffs strictly after resumption. Existing payment outcomes and a payer’s explicit recovery action remain separate; an older amount is neither forgiven nor automatically charged because the GM returns.
Cancellation stops renewal at the end of the current trial or paid period; the confirmation shows when remaining access ends. QuestSeat does not automatically provide a pro-rata or change-of-mind refund for an unused part of a subscription period. Contact us about an erroneous charge or a service failure. This policy does not limit a refund or remedy required by law.
Joining and accepting a game
Before requesting or accepting a place, read the campaign’s actual dates and time zone, session duration, game system and edition, experience and equipment requirements, audience and content information, published price and commitment, and table expectations.
A seat request is not a reservation or a payment. Confirm your email where required to send a request to the GM. A private question or a stated group size also does not reserve places, submit applications for other people or authorise payments for them.
If the GM approves an offer, the app shows the reservation deadline, dates, price, currency and terms. Current offers reserve a place for 24 hours, but campaign admission or eligible dates can close earlier. Acceptance must complete while the offer and admission remain open. Stripe arrangements also require the applicable secure card setup and collection consent. Ask for a fresh offer if the shown scope has expired or changed.
GMs must describe their games accurately, keep public availability and requirements current, and honour the terms they agree. Publishing a page and opting into discovery are separate choices. A public profile, listing or payment-readiness check is not a QuestSeat guarantee of the GM’s quality, suitability or conduct, and we do not promise a GM a particular number of players or bookings.
Session prices and mixed arrangements
New launch offers use USD. Test or existing offers may use other currencies; read the exact amount and currency before accepting. The campaign must state the complete session price and any finite scheduled total or ongoing commitment. Existing records retain the currency and terms actually agreed; a new currency rule does not rewrite them.
GMs may bring existing or off-platform players and mix QuestSeat collection, direct external payments and complimentary places. Every participant counts toward capacity and attendance, regardless of payment method. Existing players do not have to move legitimate external payments to QuestSeat to participate.
QuestSeat takes no session commission or application fee, adds no player platform fee, and applies no markup to Stripe fees. Players pay the published session total. On payments collected through QuestSeat, the GM bears actual applicable Stripe processing costs. The GM subscription is a separate charge.
External receipts and returns are recorded by the GM; they are not transactions processed or provider-verified by QuestSeat. The GM must describe them honestly and arrange any direct return with the player. A complimentary place has no session amount due.
Before starting collection, GMs must complete the applicable merchant setup and meet the requirements for their chosen arrangement. GMs remain responsible for the business information and tax or invoice obligations applicable to their activity; these terms do not decide those obligations or treat a CSV export as a tax invoice.
Card setup, collection and payment recovery
Enter card details only through the designated secure payment flow. The relevant consent must identify the agreement, amount, currency, collection conditions and scope. Card setup is not itself a session payment. Do not provide somebody else’s financial consent or reuse consent for a different person, campaign, arrangement or materially changed commitment.
For the current session policy, eligible collection is scheduled from the displayed cutoff, 24 elapsed hours before the session, once the session has enough expected players or the GM has committed to run. The displayed date, time and time zone matter, including across daylight-saving changes. A scheduled attempt, a completed collection and attendance are independent facts.
If a payment fails or requires authentication, review the amount still owed and the recovery action shown in your payment records. A failure does not prove the player left the campaign or the session was cancelled. Do not treat a pending or uncertain payment outcome as paid, definitively failed or refunded until the outcome is confirmed.
Changing an arrangement for future sessions does not automatically cancel an already agreed amount or convert a direct-payment debt into card permission. Review the effective dates and updated consent before using a new collection arrangement.
Skips, cancellations and money returned
To avoid the current session charge while keeping your campaign place, skip strictly before that session’s displayed cutoff. At or after the cutoff, the agreed paid amount remains owed if the session runs, unless waived or refunded. A timely skip cannot be undone after the cutoff. Leaving a campaign does not erase an existing amount owed.
If the GM cancels a session, unpaid charges for it are voided. Collected Stripe payments enter the refund process; a return is complete only when the provider outcome is confirmed. The GM must return direct payments and record those returns separately. A pending refund, external-return entry or support request is not evidence that money has reached the player.
GMs must also provide any remedy required by their accepted offer and applicable law. Players can raise an incorrect charge, missing promised access, unrun session or other failure with the GM and with QuestSeat as appropriate. A displayed cutoff or a table’s cancellation rule does not remove statutory rights.
For a subscription or platform-service problem, use the available QuestSeat support route. The subscription change-of-mind policy above does not remove mandatory remedies, impose an arbitrary deadline that removes legal rights, or require you to accept site credit instead of a remedy the law provides. A GM’s additional voluntary session-refund terms must be clearly stated in their offer and cannot reduce mandatory rights.
Published work, privacy and reviews
You retain ownership of the work you contribute. When you contribute content, you authorise QuestSeat to store, process, format and display it to provide the service according to your publication and audience choices. That permission includes necessary processing by our service providers for the same purpose, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law. It does not transfer ownership or itself authorise publishing private material as advertising or an endorsement. Only contribute material you have the right to use and share.
QuestSeat does not automatically publish saved private preparation, play links, participant contacts, applications, questions or payment records in public pages. Check the text and images you publish: authors can disclose private details themselves. Unlisted pages are accessible to anyone with their link; unlisted is not confidential or restricted membership access.
Do not publish another person’s private information or meeting links without authority. Use private game and issue channels for private details. The Privacy Policy explains personal information handling, service providers, retention and privacy requests. Accepting these terms is not blanket consent to optional marketing or unrelated uses of personal information.
Reviews must describe the reviewer’s own genuine experience. The chosen public name, rating, review text, selected strengths and review month may be public. QuestSeat does not automatically publish the reviewer’s email, campaign/session records or private feedback; check the review text for details you do not want public. Private feedback can be read by the owning GM and is not public.
Reviewers can edit or withdraw their review through the supported process. Evidence labels distinguish GM-recorded attendance from player-reported experience; neither independently proves attendance or endorses quality. Do not buy, trade, threaten, impersonate or pressure reviews. Disagreement with a rating alone is not a reason for removal. Reports are assessed separately from a GM’s preferences, and the author must have a route to ask about a moderation decision. Read how player reviews work for more detail.
Responsible use and proportionate restrictions
Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud or unlawfully discriminate against other people; misuse their private data; interfere with access controls or service operation; or publish content you have no right to publish. GMs and players must respect the requirements and boundaries agreed for the table. Raising a genuine complaint, seeking a lawful remedy or leaving an honest review is not misuse.
Where reasonably necessary to protect people or the service, comply with law, investigate serious misuse or address a material breach, we may restrict the affected action, content or access. Restrictions should be proportionate to the issue. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and give a reasonable opportunity to respond or correct the problem. Urgent security or safety cases may require immediate action or a limited explanation. Any sharing of personal information remains subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
You can ask QuestSeat to review a restriction or moderation decision. A restriction does not automatically forfeit money, erase financial records or remove statutory rights. Appropriate handling of already accepted sessions, refunds and essential records remains required.
Problems, contact and consumer rights
Contact the GM about a specific game’s attendance, table expectations, preparation, session changes or direct payment. For a platform problem, disputed platform charge or difficulty obtaining appropriate assistance, email support@questseat.com, including if you cannot sign in, or use Report an issue. Verified email access is required for that form; platform reports are available only when QuestSeat support is configured and accepting reports. A report addressed to QuestSeat is not automatically sent to your GM.
Write to STORMSCAPE PTY LTD, 8B Daly Street, Kurralta Park, SA 5037, Australia.
Include the relevant campaign/session date, a clear explanation and the outcome you seek. Do not send full card numbers or access tokens. For urgent session changes, contact your GM directly.
These terms do not promise a staffed response time, uninterrupted availability, a particular game result, player demand or future features. They do not excuse a failure to provide the services or remedies we are legally required to provide.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies. Other mandatory laws may also apply to you. Those rights prevail over an inconsistent term. You do not have to give up a regulator complaint, payment-provider process or other lawful remedy to seek help from us.
Changes to the service or these terms
Material changes to these terms, subscription offers or the way an accepted commitment is fulfilled must be brought to affected users’ attention before they apply, with the notice, consent and cancellation rights required by law. Changes must not retrospectively rewrite an accepted session agreement, an accrued claim, an eligible continuous founding rate or the amount already agreed for a paid billing period.
New recurring charges still require the applicable express financial consent. Merely continuing to browse public pages, receiving an email or having content remain stored does not authorise a new charge. The effective version must be available for users to review and retain.
