Help with your table

Find out how joining, private access, session payments and changes work before you take your next step.

Joining a game

How do I request a seat?

Read the campaign’s dates, time zone, full price and table requirements, then request a seat. Confirm your email when prompted to send the request to the GM. A request does not reserve a place or take a payment.

Can I ask a question first or bring friends?

Use “Ask a question” to discuss the table, access needs or playing with friends. Replies appear asynchronously in a private conversation after email verification when required. A group size gives the GM context; it does not submit requests or reserve places for your friends.

How do I accept an offer?

GM approval reserves a place for 24 hours. Accept while the offer and campaign admission remain open; admission can close earlier. Review its deadline, dates, price, currency and terms.

Stripe places also require secure card setup and explicit collection consent. Your place is accepted only when acceptance completes. Ask for a fresh offer if it expires or the eligible dates change.

Returning to your game

Where are my next session and table links?

Your private game home holds the next date, preparation and table links your GM shares. Use the verified player identity connected to that game.

Do I need a password or public profile?

A password or public player profile is not a condition of participation. Email verification protects private access and actions that need it. GMs can include established guests without email and relay their information. Sharing an email address does not combine different people’s records.

Payments, skips and cancellations

How do payments and fees work?

The GM confirms checkout, direct payment or a complimentary place. External receipts and returns are GM-recorded, not processed or verified by QuestSeat. Complimentary places have no session amount due.

Players pay the published session total; QuestSeat adds no player platform fee or session commission. GMs bear actual Stripe costs on payments collected through QuestSeat. Review the GM subscription price, trial and renewal terms before starting a subscription.

Card setup itself is not a payment. Collection is scheduled from the displayed 24-hour cutoff, once the session has enough expected players or a GM commitment to run.

What if I need to skip or leave?

Skip strictly before the session’s displayed cutoff to avoid its charge and keep your campaign place. The cutoff is 24 elapsed hours before the session, including across daylight-saving changes.

At or after cutoff, the agreed paid amount remains owed if the session runs, unless waived or refunded. Leaving does not erase existing debt. A timely skip cannot be undone after cutoff.

What happens if the GM cancels?

Unpaid charges for the cancelled session are voided. Collected Stripe payments enter the refund process; completion depends on provider confirmation. The GM must return direct payments and record those returns separately. A pending refund or return is not a completed payment back to you.

Privacy and player reviews

What appears on public pages?

Public pages contain the GM’s published work and public game facts. QuestSeat does not automatically publish saved private preparation, table links, player contacts, requests, questions or payment records. Check the text and images you publish for private details. Unlisted pages are accessible to anyone with their link.

What happens when I leave a review?

After a session on your roster has ended, review your own experience, including a directly paid or complimentary game. Your chosen display name, rating, text, selected strengths and review month are public. QuestSeat does not automatically publish your email, campaign/session details or private feedback. Check your review text for private details.

You can edit or withdraw your review. Review source labels describe recorded or player-reported experience; they do not independently verify attendance or endorse the GM.

Running your table

Can I bring my existing group?

Bring existing players with checkout, direct-payment and complimentary arrangements at the same table. Every participant counts toward capacity. Keep expected participation separate from actual attendance. Existing players do not have to move their direct payments to QuestSeat.

Does publishing automatically list my games in discovery?

Publishing a page and opting into discovery are separate choices. Game search includes opted-in public campaigns with eligible dates and available places. Participation in the GM directory is a separate opt-in. A public portfolio can remain useful without open games.

Need help with a specific issue?

Contact your GM about attendance, table expectations, session changes or a direct payment. Keep private table links and payment details out of public messages.
